    You can use T-De-Esser to:

    • Remove harshness from sound sources that were closely mic’d
    • Manage sibilance in vocals and dialog in a transparent manner
    • Treat irregular tonal balance caused by poor recording quality
    • Reduce the glare from unnecessarily bright guitar and piano recordings
    • Tame piercing synth sounds
    • Control the high-frequencies in overheads’ transients, such as snare, hi-hats, or clash
    • Give more dynamic range to your tracks while mastering, due to the reduction of unnecessary harsh frequencies
  • T-De-Esser can streamline your audio project workflow by saving you both vital time and effort. It works as effectively on individual tracks as it does on buses. It performs admirably in a wide range of implementations, from sound design and post-production to the most demanding of mastering applications.

  • The magic

Unlike the majority of De-Esser plug-ins available on the market, T-De-Esser gives a pure natural sound while smoothing the high-frequencies.

The only noticeable difference will be the
    removal of harshness.

  • T-De-Esser Magic
  • Graphic user interface (GUI)

Visuals can distract your hearing, digital graphs are very likely to affect your decision-making when it comes to setting the values. T-De-Esser, however, helps you just stay focused on the output sound, rather than how things change visually as you tweak the settings.

Whilst there are only a few knobs and buttons on the GUI, each has a huge impact on the audio sound improvement. Less is more, so just to avoid getting caught in the trap of making infinite, minuscule tweaks, we made sure only to have the essential options available for you on the GUI.

  • Quick yet powerful

T-De-Esser has been designed with simplicity in mind. It is fast to set up and easy to use, yet allows you to adjust the processing to your needs.

Turning the processing knob starts the plug-in’s operation, you then set how intense you want to go according to your taste. There are 4 frequency bands available to choose between, depending on where the harshness and sibilance are coming from.

Artist feedback

"The T-De-Esser Pro, is an incredible De-Esser.. but it’s also so much more, yet the GUI makes it so intuitive. It lets you audition, hone in on and correct troublesome areas, but it’s as equally an amazing tool for colouring or adding character to a track or instrument. It’s a multi-tool in my opinion. "

"While my production approach and sound design can be extreme, when it comes to mixing, I like to take a more subtle approach and the Techivation T-De-Esser is such a great tool to help me with that. The GUI and functionality is incredible and not like anything I’ve used before. "

"The T-De-Esser does a really dope 'job' at controlling the “s” sound in a very natural way! I love the options to control different frequency bands where dessing is typically needed and the interface is very simple and intuitive. I think they’ve got something with this plug-in, I plan to use it all the time."

"T-De-Essr is super fresh and funky! I love the 4 buttons at the bottom right. It makes things fast as you can just dive in and get exactly what you need. It's creativity and utility. I see it as a tool for both. Super utilitarian tool and also can be a very creative one. It's a great plugin!"

Louis Henry SarmientoLouis Henry SarmientoMixing Engineer (Sonic Vista Studios)

"One of the cleanest, simplest and most successful plugins I've ever seen! the reduction is very good and at the same time very smooth, it doesn't lose the quality of the vocals, and it's even possible to change which frequencies you want it to reduce... I'll definitely use it very often"

"The interface is simple but extremely elegant. I was blown away by the efficiency of this de-esser with only a few knobs. I put it in my everyday vst."

FAQ

A De-Esser is a tool for lowering the loudness of high frequencies usually above 1kHz that may cause spitting or piecing when an “ess” or “shh” sound is made.

The most common usage for de-essers is for fixing sibilance issues on vocal recordings, however, as the T-De-Esser works in a different way than regular types of de-essers, it can be useful for several kinds of sound sources, such as drums, guitars, keys, etc.

We recommend using the T-De-Esser as the first instance of your plug-ins chain. However, sometimes it is also ideal to use it after EQ or use a second instance of T-De-Esser after EQ. For example, you may want to fix some harshness and sibilance issues of a recording using a first T-De-Esser instance, then boost more high-end frequencies using an EQ to brighten up the sound and use a second T-De-Esser in the chain to smooth out the boosted high-end.

Of course. We allow users to take advantage of our free T-De-Esser plug-in for their audio projects, whether it's personal or commercial audio projects. However, we do not permit third parties to upload/share or sell our plug-in installers. Please our terms and conditions for more information on this.

The free T-De-Esser doesn't not include the oversampling feature, however, the premium T-De-Esser Pro lets you apply oversampling up to 16X as well as giving you many other options.
